Bonding

Bonding at Our Denture Repair Clinic

Dental bonding refers to the process professionals use to repair cracked or chipped teeth and dentures, as well as to correct stained teeth and replace silver amalgam fillings. A common procedure in modern dentistry, bonding is also an effective method of closing gaps and reshaping misaligned teeth. The result is healthier looking teeth and a more aesthetically pleasing smile.

At Dentistree, our denture repair clinic can provide fantastic bonding services and results. We boast a team of dental professionals who have extensive experience applying composite resins and take a conservative approach that involves minimum alteration to the original tooth enamel.

Our Bonding Procedure

Our denture repair clinic uses a comprehensive bonding procedure to ensure composite resin is properly applied:

  • We use a local anaesthetic to numb the tooth and surrounding tissue.
  • The tooth is isolated from the rest of your teeth using a thin sheet of rubber. This prevents saliva from ruining the bond of the composite.
  • The tooth is thoroughly cleaned to remove remnants of food, plaque and tartar.
  • We prepare the tooth by roughening its surface using a phosphoric-acid based gel. This is followed by the application of a bonding agent using a concentrated beam of UV light.
  • The composite resin is applied in layers and set at each stage using the UV light. This is continued until the desired tooth shape is achieved.
  • Finally, the restored tooth is polished to give it a smooth finish.
